Gracie is 7 today!
How on earth is that possible, my baby is 7.
Wow! 6 started out
really tough. There were days that I was
not sure we were going to make it to 7 in one piece. I have shared here before of the issues we
have struggled through with Gracie.
Anxiety, separation issues, anger…
I am so thankful for the way that 6 ended. It is amazing what 12 months, a ton of
patience, a little reading, and lots, lots and lots of prayer can do.
Homeschooling was the best choice. No it has not been easy but it has been worth
it. It was a bit of a rough slow start
but she has come to see that if she settles in and gets to work she can have
the rest of the day to play.
We go to bible study on Thursday and she loves it now. That was a tough start too. She did not want to be away from me for even
that 2 hour time period. Her wonderful
teachers pulled her off of me each week for over a month until she made up her
mind that we would continue to go and that it was actually fun.
Homeschool her has taught me other things about my girl that
I did not realize. She has a need to get
out there are burn some energy. When she
can’t concentrate make her go bike for 15 minutes and she will do it with all
her might and be back in to work. She
needs 6 little meals a day. I knew this
but had not thought about how that could make a school day really hard for
her. She loves tools, especially power
tools, and she is good with them. She loves
to spend time in the shop with daddy when he is home.
What a girl may Gracie Anne is! I am thankful that the Lord gave her to us. She has taught us much. She has tried my patience but yet she is my
sweetest little hugger. She is all about
pink, sparkles and froo-froo. Yet she is
one tough cookie when she needs to be.
She is very sensitive in many ways.
She loves her Jesus very much, that is the best thing for a mom to be
able to say.
